Yay, I started a blog. What fun and full of amazing info about the world around me.....oh...wait...we are in a pandemic....oh...can't go out...stay at home order....oh...immune disorder.....oh at risk. I am going to guess you are trying to figure out why the heck I am writing a blog during this. Well...I need a place to write down my thoughts but also some tips that I have learned to help my kids through this as well.
I Kendra, have an immune disorder. I was lucky at I was born with it and my immune system attacks my joints rather then the bad illnesses that like to attack my body. I also have asthma on top of it. Want to know how bad my awesome immune system is. You see my colds turn into worse with in a few days. If I get bronchitis from a cold then I have to pump my body with medication because my body doesn't fight bronchitis quickly. When I was in Junior High (its a middle school now), had bronchitis for six months...SIX MONTHS My doctor didn't even want to believe that it was just bronchitis so had I to give blood for other illnesses and x-rays. Why am I telling you all of this...well you see there is this pandemic caused by a respiratory illness. A respiratory illness that is killing people. Well...lucky me...I am at risk for this awesome illness. This respiratory illness could kill me, could put me in a hospital where I can't be with my four children. It could leave my children without a mom. That is TERRIFYING. I am not scared to die, but I am TERRIFIED of leaving my children without a mom. I am scared that I won't be here to watch all four of them graduate high school, get married, and have children of their own. I always wanted to be a mom and have been so GRATEFUL to be a stay-at-home mom.
Every SINGLE day, I find out more in Kansas are being diagnosed with this illness. Then I hear that Kansas is only 50th in testing for Covd-19. That means that the rest of the United States is testing more people then Kansas. That means that there is more positive cases of Covd-19 of people not getting tested because Kansas does not have the test. That makes me even more pissed off and scared that I could come in contact with someone who has it. Kansas Governor is trying her best to keep people home because of this but people DON'T CARE. They want the stay-at-home restrictions to be lifted. They think MONEY is more important then someone life. It's more important then my children having a MOTHER. They think that those who are at risk to death with Covd-19 should be the only people that should stay home. But in reality, we know that business if they could be open will force their employees no matter the risk to be at work. If not then that person will be fired. So those at risk will be forced to choose to be able to support their family and their life at risk. Or not having the money at all for food. But let's not count for those who are not a risk being forced into the world and then bring it home for their at risk family member. That doesn't even account for the asymptomatic people out there that are risking others health without even knowing it. We all know children...are major carriers of illnesses.
No...STAY AT HOME orders should stay. We need to put a limit on businesses that are open. This stay at home order does not take away people rights at all. We can still go to the stores that are open. We can still go out for a drive. We can still watch our religious services at home. We can still go for a walk around the neighborhood. This is forcing business to do their job on protecting not only their employees but also their customers. If it was taking our rights away even our Constitution rights then it would be MARSHALL LAW.
But NO...people don't like that. There are people protesting at state buildings for the Stay at Home Orders to be lifted. Even hundreds of people in one small area possibly passing Covd-19 to each other. I have seen the nasty comments. One really bothered me the other day said, "We need to OPEN UP, and lets get all these weak people sick so they can die and my economy can rise." So in reality my LIFE is less important then MONEY. Awesome...but that one person is not the only person who thinks that. My children having a mother is less important then MONEY. Let's not just use me as an example. Let's say a child who just won their battle with CANCER is also at risk. This person...thinks MONEY is more important then a child having a LIFE. I am sorry but if you think money is more important then you need to get your priorities right.
MY LIFE IS MORE IMPORTANT THEN MONEY. MY CHILDREN'S RIGHT TO HAVING THEIR MOTHER ALIVE IS MORE IMPORTANT THEN MONEY.
